Lumber Grades
Lumber varies greatly depending on the species, type of log, and where it is cut from the log. Grading systems have been developed over time to give users confidence that the lumber they have purchased is suitable for its' intended use. Our specialty is appearance grade lumber rather than structural lumber.
All our lumber has been carefully graded at the mill. We list here the grades of lumber we supply, the grade specifications.
Most grades can be supplied either Green or Kiln Dried; Treated or Untreated; Rough Sawn or Surfaced.
Common Rough Sawn widths 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 200, 250 or 300 millimetres and common thicknesses are 25, 38, and 50 millimetres. Some grades are supplied in random width and commonly in thicknesses of 36 or 44mm. Different dimensions can be requested if required.
